Job Position – Medical Laboratory Technician

To handle maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in the laboratory facilities, and support instructors and students who are using them, as well as safety tests the labs and assure the proper functioning of facilities, materials, and equipment.
- Perform and verify regular laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations by following strict methodologies to carry out the analysis.
- Organizing and storing samples/tests in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the samples/tests.
- Provide training for faculty members and students on how to use the equipment and tools and the safety measurements.
- Assist in providing the required information in developing/designing laboratory manuals, procedures, and safety instructions.
- Ensure proper inspection/maintenance of medical instruments and tools are done on regular basis, and report any malfunctions or issues immediately.
- Assist in managing lab facilities by making sure that the equipment and machines are in good working order and recommends improvements as appropriate to maintain standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure and reinforce safety standards and protocols in the laboratory, and implement safety training for both faculty and students.
- Provide an array of video libraries, examinations, and procedures in order to help students prepare for experiments and their research projects.
- Assist in preparing laboratory supply inventory and ordering of laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables.
- Complete forms, reports, logs, records and other related documents.
- Oversee the cleanliness and tidiness of the Laboratory at all times.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Good laboratory management including knowledge of basic lab principles and applications as well as methods, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of operating the required software/hardware.
- Able to understand the meaning of common error messages and explain them to users in simple language.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks and produce reports under strict guidelines.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
- Use technical knowledge to help and assist users overcome any difficulties.
- Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS office applications
- Minimum of Bachelors in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or any related discipline.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
