Job Position – Senior Analyst, Energy Services Research

The candidate will report into the Energy Service team which is responsible for Rystad Energy’s research and analyses of the global supply chain industry, spanning all energy markets and service segments such as rigs, vessels, well services, seismic, engineering, fabrication and maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
- Research related to the oilfield service market with a focus on the drilling, completion, interventions and P&A markets globally, with special focus on the MENA region.
- Analyze market trends across offshore, conventional onshore and shale
- Track closely the well service and drilling market in the region, by tracking drilling programs, assessing well counts and analyzing the rig demand and supply
- Assist with business development activities such as sharing market views, explaining the methodology and research processes through virtual presentations or in-person presentations at industry or Rystad Energy events
- Take specific responsibility for our energy service research in the MENA region and share insights on service companies, operators and financial institutions
- Contribute to and write event related commentaries and reports
- Solve clients’ business problems by creating internal workflows, including data analysis, primary research through interviews, and gathering data from public and proprietary sources
- Maintain and expand the network of primary intelligence sources in the oil and gas industry and the wider energy industry
Requirements / Skills
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the broad energy service market
- Ability to conduct market sizing and forecasting analysis for service markets along with supply and pricing drivers
- Ability to present and defend market views and research at public events or client sites
- Strong academic track record in the relevant field (e.g. Master’s Degree in engineering, finance, economics)
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in an oilfield service company, consultancy financial institution or O&G operator
- Solid proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI
- Programming skills are an advantage but not required
- Outstanding team player, also fully capable of working independently
The position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on attitude. The right candidate must have a strong interest in or direct work experience in the energy sector, as well as a desire to work with both the technical and financial aspects of the market. We are seeking candidates with an outstanding ability to synthesize data and information coming from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written will be seen upon as a great benefit.
