Job Description And Qualifications
Main missions of the Plant & Cylinder Maintenance shop Technician .
The technician shall execute all planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of plant rotating equipment such as compressors, cylinder filling pumps, liquid transfer pumps, vacuum pumps ,Chillers and static equipment such as storage tanks, vaporizers, electric heaters. This role shall plan and conduct the maintenance of equipment’s at Cylinders Maintenance shop.
Provide day-to-day operation of the plant to support the plant on-stream, production and reliability targets. Investigate equipment failures, resolve root cause of failure, and recommend appropriate solutions to reduce reoccurrence of/or eliminate cause of failure. Maintain an error-free execution. Pay very close attention to details and implement work to the highest possible standard. Apply a Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily work. Participate in the planning and execution of minor or major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands- on support as required during shutdowns. Provide troubleshooting expertise for other facilities in the area as required.(Other PG sites).Follow, update, and maintain Operating procedures to ensure safety and efficiency of the operations. Promote safety rules and regulations. Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Gas filling Plants Maintenance & Cylinder Maintenance Plants
- Preventive maintenance of plant rotating equipment such as compressors, cylinder filling pumps, liquid transfer pumps, vacuum pumps and static equipment’s such as storage tanks, vaporizers, electric heaters and filling manifolds as per OEM recommendations and AP standard operating procedures.
- Daily monitoring of machines running hours and its recording follow up for next PM spares and readiness.
- Plan next preventive maintenance works.
- Coordinate with production team and following AP safety rules and regulations
- Plan and conduct maintenance of ALL Equipment’s at PG Plants, Cylinders Maintenance Shop .
- Facilitate troubleshooting ( including electrical) & inspection of systems.
- Prepare job cards , preventive maintenance checklist, function test reports and maintain maintenance history along with all required paperwork.
- Safe use of all hand tools and equipment.
- Maintenance of Critical spares for all equipment’s as stated above.
- Development, writing and completion of eMOC’s, participate in internal/external audits ,site walks .
- Participate in the basic safety process as a key member of the Site Safety committee and sharing responsibility for the site’s overall safety performance. Share AP philosophy that nothing is more important than safety.
- Issue safety work permits and perform lock out / tag out of various process equipment. Ensure that all plant safety procedures are followed. Attend to EHS monthly safety meetings /Trainings.
- Demonstrate the ability to read technical drawings, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping and wiring schematics.
- Verify, contractor proposals with material supply, for site sub-contractor works if any, review and approve RA the same in line with AP specifications and code requirements. Issue a SWP & monitor their work
- Check and verify Incoming materials, conduct inspection GRN reports, collect material test certificates, report any discrepancies .
- Accountable to perform assigned Critical activities as per Process Safety requirements ( CM task, Trakees and DCD,APSAM etc).
- Provide support for SPEC gas plant( Knowledge of equipment’s used in specialty gas plant ).
Maintenance and Records
- Implementation of maintenance as per PM plan for plant equipment.
- Carry out functionality test of instruments as per SOP under supervision of Plant Manager.
- Ensure breakdown / corrective maintenance of plant equipment is carried out as per business needs.
- Ensure maintenance records are updated and history cards of equipment’s are maintained.
- Ensure preventive maintenance plan ( SAP work orders) is managed correctly in coordination with Production and other teams. Ensure that all tools are organized as per requirements.
Knowledge On Know-how Specific To The Job
- Hands on experience on rotating machines.
- Knowledge of cryogenic and industrial gases filling centers.
- Knowledge of basic properties of Gases.
- Hard competence skills
- Rotation machines maintenance experience +5 years .
- Cryogenic and Industrial gases maintenance experience +5 years .
- Behavior and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills required for documenting and recording work performed. ( Knowledge of SAP to complete routine maintenance items monthly ).
- UAE driving license manual .
