Job Position – Social Media & Communications Intern

We are looking for a creative, conversational and proactive Social Media & Communications Intern to join our dynamic team for a minimum of 6 months. Working directly under the Founder & Marketing Specialist, you will have insight into and an opportunity to get hands-on experience in various areas of the business and multiple aspects of Digital Marketing.
Your Responsibilities will primarily include:
- Building a cohesive marketing calendar that suits company goals; strategizing tactics to achieve those goals, and generally exploring, testing, and optimizing different social media channels that suit our audience
- Manage and execute all creation of fresh, innovative & engaging content that showcases our brand, products, services, and personality effectively across all digital channels
- Staying up to date with the best practices and emerging trends in social media and ensuring that social content/posts are scheduled regularly and at optimal days and times on specific channel
- Planning, executing and monitoring Social Ad Campaigns in line with our strategy; analyze appropriate social data/metrics, insights and practices to measure the success of every campaign, then use that information to refine future campaigns
- Responsible for writing/leading the creation of compelling and grammatically sound content & updates for the company website, shop product page, newsletter and assisting in other areas of Marketing as required such as blogging, email campaigns, SEO etc. as required
- Be the digital point person for our company on WhatsApp, live chat, and social channels combining communication skills and trained product knowledge to deliver the best customer experience
- Proactively engaging with current customers, potential customers, local businesses & events on social media and email
- Regular reporting of key metrics
You will need to have:
- A Degree in Marketing, PR, Media or public communications or similar
- Experience working with Social Media professionally or for a group, project or organization
- Strong understanding of all leading social media sites and what makes each tick
- Grasp of social content scheduling tools such as Hootsuite or Later
- Excellent communication skills
- Clear and engaging writing style
- Basic graphic design skills or experience using tools like Canva
- Eagerness to learn on the job and self-learn skills quickly as and when required
- Enthusiasm, agility, and flexibility in providing support for multiple projects, ad hoc issues and work assignment
- Growth mindset and a positive personality!
Bonus if you have:
- Graphic Design Skills
- Experience in Video Editing
- Experience working with Magento & MailChimp
- Experience with Remarketing
