KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Own the monthly/weekly content calendar for our global social channels, Chairman’s channels and those of other execs, ensuring that it delivers on our narrative pillars and comms objectives. Source stories from around the business, identify optimal channels, formats and timings to communicate these stories
- Line management of the Website Specialist, who is responsible for website project management and development
- Brief and manage our external social media, content creation, production and specialist agencies to produce campaigns made up of well-written content, high quality images and engaging social-first video that covers the breadth of our business offerings
- Work with the Head of Digital & Social Media to develop and continuously update the social media strategy for DP World to help support the company’s business and communications objectives. Support the Head of Digital and Social Media in the transition from tactical, reactive content approach to strategic, business-oriented storytelling across channels and formats
- Develop DP World’s social media governance framework for use across all markets and subsidiaries including global roll out.. Track compliance and identify tools and processes to facilitate enforcement
- Coordinate a training programme for anyone managing social channels in our global network, including subsidiaries, to improve proficiency and adoption of best practice;
- Maintain a deep awareness of DP World’s business, peers, industry and relevant current affairs in order to develop relevant and engaging content
- Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy. Assess relevance and use for DP World and implement where appropriate
- Ensure adequate monitoring of social media threats and opportunities and report back to the Head of Digital & Social Media; escalate crisis threats to CCO
- Analyse campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Social Media campaigns.
- Coordinate 30+ global and BU social media managers including weekly content planning, strategy and approval of business-led social content
- Source and manage tools including social planning and enterprise publishing. Coordinate training and adoption across regional and global teams
- Coordinate with Group Technology on new Tech social channels including agency selection and management, strategy, content creation, paid media and reporting, senior stakeholder engagement (CTO)
- Ownership of employee social media policy, education and compliance including Social Media Champions programme
- Provide expert consultancy to VP/SVP stakeholders on linkedin strategy and content
- Redevelopment of dpworld.com content including auditing, briefing, developing UX, content development
- Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s values and culture
- Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all activities.
- Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
JOB CONTEXT
This role represents the head office of DP World but has interaction with the regional network and subsidiaries. It helps the company achieve its business objectives through the effective use of digital and social media as a communications and business tool. The Digital and Social Media Manager will be expected to work with the Head of Digital & Social Media to proactively drive DP World’s social and digital media strategy, seeking buy in and co-operation from corporate communications, UAE and global colleagues to implement the plan.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proven experience – at least 5 years – and a strategic approach to social media
- Strong grasp of social media as a business communications and marketing tool across all major global platforms
- Excellent consulting, writing, editing, presentation and communication skills
- Experience running strategic social media campaigns, preferably with global reach including agency management
- Experience using tools for social media listening, publishing, scheduling
- Able to interpret social media data and advice on actionable tasks
- Positive attitude, strong initiative, attention to detail, rapid response rate with good multitasking and organisational ability
- Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours as needed
