Project Details
Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, a 800 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar plant
Qatar’s first large-scale solar power plant, Al Kharsaah will provide sustainable, affordable and clean energy to industries, services and individuals through the Qatari grid starting from 2021 with an initial 350 MWp capacity before reaching its full capacity in 2022. It will represent around 10% of electricity peak demand of the country and will reduce the CO2 emissions of Qatar by 26 million tons during the life of the project. The solar plant will be built on over 1000 hectares of land and equipped with 2 million bifacial solar modules with trackers, allowing substantial power gains and leveraging the advantage of the exceptional sunlight exposure in the region. It will represent an investment of around 500 million US dollars.
Accountabilities
- Leads QA/QC Team (Project Company and Owner`s Engineer) to manage quality of works, including Shop Test & Inspection.
- Reviews, agree and monitor the EPC Project Quality Plan
- Communicates of the quality plan and it objectives to staff, Owner`s Engineer and EPC Contractor
- Supports all Consultants, Design Consultants and Design, Construction Supervision Consultants and contractors in the implementation of Quality, Plans and procedures and the monitoring of their performance on all Quality matters
- Develops and implements audit schedules and plans, including unannounced visits
- Develops statistical reports on Quality performance
- Identifies and communicate lessons learned though the programmed lifecycle
- Manages the programmed quality control testing service
- Coordinates and manages any 3rd party audits as required
Key Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of Quality management experience in the power generation industry.
- Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with managing field engineering, inspection, and NDE related to all QA/QC functions.
- Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, deficiencies, and reporting programs, including root cause analysis
- Quality Culture behaviors (rigorous, systematic, prudent approach, questioning attitude and good communication) as an example for the organization
- Understanding ISO 9001 and related Quality Standards and concepts
- Experience of performing audits is an asset
