Basic Purpose of the role
The IT Physician Transformation Analyst is a role supporting the Physician Transformation Program in SSMC and reporting to the Physician Transformation Lead position, which is under the IT Clinical Transformation Manager. The SSMC Physician Transformation Program was started in 2022 with the aim of improving physician support in the utilization of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Key Responsibilities
Championing the cause of Physician related additions, optimizations, and overall adoption of health information systems across all SSMC venues by:
- Primary point of contact for assigned specialty teams
- Communication of the vision for change and deliver using Change Management principles
- Identifying and documenting opportunities for positive change through meetings, observations, data analysis, etc. – Identifying risks and benefits
- Perform design, build, and business process revisions as needed
- Education / Training Delivery – Classroom, one-one sessions, coaching, preparation of materials and videos – Conduct training or support training team needs
- Developing metrics to measure utilization/adoption scores, efficiency, of use, documentation quality, and creating focused sessions to build confidence in the use of HIS-related tools
- Support the organization on their CDI journey
- Marketing HIS-related achievements in the physician space
- Some out-of-hours work may be required
- Maintain EMR knowledge and required qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine (Active License not required)
Desired:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant clinical field such as Health Informatics or Data Analytics
Specialist Certifications
Desired:
- Heath Informatics or similar certification such as CPHIMS – Certified Professional Health Information and Management Systems
- Business Analyst Certification (CBAP / PMI-PBA)
- Project Management Professional or similar
Experience
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Health Informatics
Desired:
- Experience in a large healthcare facility; Similar experience with major HIS vendors such as Epic or Cerner
