Field Technician, Instruments – Siemens Energy

Your Profile

• Mechanical diploma or equivalent. Completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
• At least 2 years’ experience in Field Service as Instrument Technician for rotating equipment
• Willingness to travel about 250days/year to sites both within KSA and outside
• Strong Instrument background, with hands-on knowledge of instrument service/installation and calibration
• Knowledge of steam/gas turbine and compressor processes
• Can demonstrate experience on the below equipment and processes such as RTDs, Vibration equipment, Transmitters, Thermocouples, Cable pulling and termination for various equipment, Circuit diagram interpretation, Hot and Cold Loop checking and Industry standard test procedures for various equipment
• Experience in multicultural teams required
• English proficiency both oral and written
• Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing
• Able to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time critical situations
• Sensitive and responsive to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal, and cultural groups.
• Proven integrity and high personal standards of behaviour.
• Experience in working in a multinational and multicultural environment, as well as proven interpersonal skills

• Perform dismantling, inspection, evaluation, repair, and calibration of instruments
• Be the example for your team.

• Ensure the requirements of the process, procedures, and drawings accomplish what you need and expect.
• Stop when unsure, seek guidance and escalate issues.
• Emphasis on procedural adherence, use of Job Hazard Analysis’s (JHA), peer checking, and questioning attitude.
• Be an active participate in pre-job briefs and after work scope reviews.
• Know your critical work steps
• Review entire work instructions / procedures
• Ensure drawing, procedures and process requirements are met and understood
• If requirements cannot be met notify your supervisor
• Know how your role fits into the overall project organization.
• Follow the procedure / processes laid out
• Maintain your role and ensure clear turnovers
• Know what is next and discover what you do not know; ensure the parts and tools are ready with enough time to correct any deficiencies.
• Ensure work area is clean and free of obstructions.
• Organize Tools, materials, and maintain strict FME Control
• Timely expense submittals, cost awareness, time entry as required, completing assigned training, and documentation requirements.
• Follow customer requirements – Adhere to customers smoking, cell phone usage, parking, safety, and other specified protocols.
• Ensure your home office and project manager are aware of your status, update changes daily for job progress, travel status, and emergent issues.
