MacroScope Strategies (M2S) is looking for an International Affairs Analyst to join its Abu Dhabi office and support its team of public and foreign affairs experts.
Who We Are
M2S is an independent provider of diplomatic services, geopolitical analysis, and market intelligence, with a presence in Berlin, Brussels, The Hague, and Abu Dhabi. By making use of a global network of experts and advisors, we help our clients access markets, secure relationships, mitigate risks, and develop insights that open new horizons. We work across a variety of jurisdictions, including the European Union and the Arabian Peninsula.
What You Will Be Doing
You will support the M2S team with developing analysis and insights on current (international) affairs, carry out research, and assist with business development and client engagement. Day-to-day activities will include monitoring international policy and regulatory processes, attending and reporting on public events, writing short-form memos, analytical reports and (social) media posts. While you will be based in Abu Dhabi, you may also be asked to contribute to some work and projects undertaken by our other offices.
Responsibilities & Duties (inter alia)
- Conducting background research
- Monitoring policy processes
- Preparing memos, analytical reports and (social) media posts
- Managing weekly deliverables
- Participating in and reporting on public events
- Administrative support tasks
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is a recent graduate student in a relevant field with some prior work experience in public administration, international affairs, communications or media. Full proficiency in English and Arabic (written and oral) is a must for this position. Relevant further qualifications include:
- A university graduate degree (BA or MA), preferably in international relations, politics, media, communications, economics, or related fields.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work in small teams.
- Experience with Power Point, Canva, Power BI, other standard presentation tools is a plus.
- Self-starter with a flexible mindset and willingness to work in a start-up environment.
Modalities
- Length of employment: 1 year, renewable (3 months’ probation).
- Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Abu Dhabi (home office, M2S offices)
- Remuneration: competitive for an entry-level position
- Starting Date: ASAP
