JOB PURPOSE
· Demonstrates an excellent safety and attitude behaviour, Promotes hazard reporting and ensures effective safety reporting.
· Bring safety issues to the attention of management team.
· Developing continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment to SMS. The safety officer is responsible for providing information and advice to his manager and to the Accountable Executive on matters relating to safe operations.
· The safety officer has the authority to stop any operation considered unsafe or prohibit and conduct investigations accordance with procedures specified in company safety manual.
· The safety officer should conduct safety audits surveys to ensure no Safety hazards of all aspects during operations.
· Inspecting all production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe. Implements safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with required regulations procedures and policies of company.
· Member of an aircraft accident board assist in maintaining accident and incident records.
· Developing Safety reports safety training, conducting quarterly safety meeting .
· Should have the knowledge to inspect aircraft maintenance record to define maintenance service and overhauls
· Inspects fuselage, wings and engine for evidence of damage or corrosion and equipment function properly performed at intervals prescribed.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
· Minimum academic requirements and/or technical qualifications
· Safety officer must have a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in safety.
· A minimum Experience five )ears of progressively responsible experience in airspace.
· Required to have a strong understanding the principles of aviation safety. Aircraft operation and maintenance aviation.
· policy and procedures, Knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations.
· A good knowledge of safety principles and practices must be familiar with aircraft accident investigation and reporting .
· Good computer skills above Intermediate level in MS Word and MS Excel.
· Safety officer must have Maintenances/air operations /aviation safety or aviation engineering at least two years’ experience required.
· The candidate must have held at least one position as an aviation safety officer.
· Aviation safety officer his duty to perform inspections to airplane for any safety requirements , including checks of mechanical work done to the airplane.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and safety problem solving skills.
