Job Description
Job Title: Engineer II – Mechanical
Reports To: Discipline Lead
Position Summary
- Deliver roles and responsibilities as defined, be responsible for on time, on quality and with safety corporate standards on budget engineering deliverables. Reporting to discipline lead or discipline manager.
- Preparation, review and approval of design and detail engineering, review of specifications, calculations, contract documents as applicable to projects and proposals.
- Ensuring deliverables with required engineering details that meet international standards, organization standards and customer standards as applicable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of material specification and design basis based on the applicable specification/codes.
- Preparation of mechanical datasheet for vessels, columns, heat exchangers and tanks.
- Preparation of mechanical design calculation in compliance with the datasheet/specifications/codes for ongoing projects and proposals for pressure vessel, heat exchanger, condenser, column and tanks.
- Preparation/ensure the design calculation of equipment for hydrostatic, transportation, lifting, external piping/platform supports for pressure vessel, heat exchanger, condenser, column and tanks.
- Preparation of user design specification ASME VIII DIV 1/2 vessels.
- Preparation of material requisition for buy- outs like filters, plate heat exchangers, miscellaneous tanks, process internals and sub- contract of painting, insulation etc.
- Provide MTO of raw materials/components required for fabrication of equipment.
- Liaison with clients, authorized inspector for calculation & drawing approvals.
- Preparation of MDR and liaise with authorized inspector for approval.
- Ensure provision of proper inputs to designer’s team for general arrangements & detailed drawings.
- Ensure on time/ on budget metrics compliance & ensure no increase in civil& structural MTO during detailed engineering without a change order.
- Ensure timely acquisition, review and approval of vendor deliverables and inter-discipline coordination.
- Participate in internal & external audits.
- Coordinate and control the vendor and third party engineering contractors and review their engineering deliverables.
- Requires employee to constantly type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
Required Education
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
Preferred Education
- Associates Degree or Technical Training in Thermal design, Computer Aided Design Technology or related field & FEA
Required Experience & Skills
- 6+Years of work experience similar job profile with an EPC or Detail Engineering Organization.
- Conversant with Compress, PV-Elite software.
- Shall be fluent in English (written & conversational)
- Must be able to work under pressure; Occasional business travel to remote and challenging environments.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Proficient with email system – Microsoft Outlook preferred;
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Experience in related industry
- Working knowledge in compression, power generation, or offshore oil and gas.
- Familiarity with any of the following tools: STAAD PRO, ANSYS, Oracle, WRENCH.
