Summary

Accountable for standardizing staffing and scheduling practice and for delivering services in line with established work rules, standards of practice, and operations. Contributes to strategic imperatives related to Patient Safety, Nursing Quality Indicators, Patient Experience, Staff Satisfaction, and Operational Efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Reviews the staffing assignments within the automated scheduling systems for the six week schedule and daily following for posted schedules.
  2. Applies the appropriate work rules in accordance to Hospital policies i.e. Sick calls and Overtime hours.
  3. Promotes an awareness of resource utilization and the associates financial implications.
  4. Communicates open shifts to the appropriate staff members based on their competencies.
  5. Acts as a professional role model and represents Nursing Affairs (NA) on relevant internal and external committees.
  6. Participates in promoting the adoption of clinical and other informatics systems e.g. Premier, Clairvia, One Staff Automated Staffing and Scheduling, Oracle, and other Staffing and Scheduling or operational systems.
  7. Promotes and maintains effective communication within and outside NA. Treats colleagues, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
  8. Educates end users in the use of systems, policies, and guidelines as required.
  9. Contributes to the achievement of cost efficiency savings in assigned area. Continuously develops own knowledge and awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, and materials.
  10. Develops and sustains own knowledge, skills, and professional awareness and maintains a professional profile. Provides documented evidence of performance and maintenance of skills consistent with position.
  11. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  12. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.

Experience Required

Four (4) years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree or six (6) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.
  • Advanced computer and hospital application experience gained either as an end-user or in a specific technology/informatics-related role is required.
